 on July 10th, 2014, coca cola bottling plant in India was forced to shut down due to drawing huge amount of groundwater. with India's water supplies already being scarce, and farmers needing water for crops, this negatively impacts coca cola as a company as they use 3 liters of water to make one liter of coke. coca cola has responded with helping build water infrastructure near coca cola plants and have also committed to replenish the water used for making coca cola. although negative, it is worth to note that coca cola has taken accountability and addressed the backlash.
